For Leanne and John, who journeyed from Adelaide to marry in the heart of Melbourne, their rooftop wedding was a heartfelt tribute to love, legacy, and the people who mean the most.
Though Adelaide is where Leanne and John’s story began, Melbourne has always held a special place in their hearts. With family spread across both cities, it felt only natural to gather everyone in the middle—on a rooftop high above the streets of Melbourne, where the skyline shimmered and love took centre stage.
This wasn’t about grandeur or spectacle. It was about intimacy. Connection. A celebration not just of their bond, but of the life they’ve already built together—especially with their children, who were at the heart of every moment.
Set atop one of Melbourne’s most exclusive rooftop venues - Luminare, the space was transformed into a romantic haven. Leanne and John wanted to create a space that felt lush, romantic, and inviting—while still embracing the clean, architectural lines of the city. The design was inspired by the idea of bringing the garden into the city, blending natural softness with modern simplicity. Think wild, asymmetric floral arrangements —delicate florals in blush, ivory, and dusty rose paired with earthy tones and sage accents.
The ceremony arch, adorned with garden roses and dahlias, perfectly framed the horizon. Their children were not only present but also were part of the ceremony.
Guests dined amongst candlelights at tables draped in linen and dressed with garden-inspired florals.
As the night came to a close, Leanne and John shared a final dance with the city sparkling around them. Then, a surprise fireworks display lit up the sky—bursting above the rooftops, reflecting in the windows, and echoing the joy of the day.
It was the perfect ending to a celebration full of heart: love in full bloom, surrounded by family, crowned by stars.
